THE DISCOVERY OF AMERICA

• The Middle Ages ended in 1492 with the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus

• Christopher Colombus was born in Genova and he wanted to go to India through a new route.
• The Queen Isabella and the King Fernando gave him support to travel and he discovered America by mistake (he thought he was in India).

• He travelled with three caravels: La Pinta, La Niña and La Santa María.

• In America he found people of different culture and religion and brought some products such as cacao, tomatoes and potatoes.
• He travelled to America four times.
• He died in Valladolid.
