Antiquity in Spain

At the beginning 2 groups of people lived in the Iberian Peninsula:
Iberians
Celts
Three groups established colonies in the Peninsula:
Phoenicians
Greeks
Carthaginians
Romans invaded the Peninsula and called it HISPANIA.

Romans in Spain

About 2000 years ago, the Romans extended their civilization to the Iberian peninsula and changed many things in Spain.
They built cities like Seville and Mérida.
They built a network of stone roads, called Roman roads to connect the cities.
They constructed monuments such as aqueducts, thermal baths and theatres.
They extended the use of Latin. Spanish and other languages come from Latin.
